Directors of the Responsible Entity
US Masters Responsible Entity Limited (RE or Responsible Entity) is the responsible entity of the stapled group, comprising US Masters Residential Property Fund (URF, URFI or Fund), and US Masters Residential property Fund II (URFII) (together the Group). The Responsible Entity is responsible for the overall operation of the Fund including the determination of its strategic direction with the aim of increasing Unitholder wealth through the performance of the Fund.Stuart Nisbett Chairman
Stuart joined the board of the Responsible Entity as the independent Chairman in December 2019. Stuart has more than 30 years’ experience in property development, project finance, funds management, equity and debt raising and real estate corporate advisory in Australia and Asia and is the founder and principal of independent corporate advisory firm, Archerfield Partners. Prior to founding Archerfield, Stuart held senior banking and investment banking roles with ANZ, NM Rothschild & Sons (Australia) and Macquarie Bank and as a senior finance and development executive with the Lend Lease group.
Stuart is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Merit and a Master of Commerce from the University of NSW, and in 2005 was appointed a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute.
Peter ShearDirector
Peter joined the board of the Responsible Entity as an independent Director in December 2019. Peter has significant expertise in funds management, financial advisory and complex lending arrangements including leveraged finance, property development and debt workout situations. Peter was most recently Co-Managing Partner of Opportunistic Lending and Special Situations at LIM Advisors. Prior to this role, Peter held the positions of Chief Risk Officer and Managing Director & Head of Corporate and Structured Finance at Lloyds Banking Group (and its predecessor HBOS plc) in Australia. Peter was also previously a Partner in Corporate Finance & Restructuring at Ernst & Young.
He has had various advisory and non-executive director roles for global credit funds and was the NRL’s Board representative on Newcastle Knights Rugby League.
Peter has a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney, an Executive MBA from AGSM, is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a Fellow of FINSIA and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Jack LowensteinDirector
Jack Lowenstein joined the board of the Responsible Entity as an independent Director in June 2024. Jack has approximately 20 years’ relevant experience in companies providing financial services in Australia across various positions in both executive and non-executive capacities, such as (not exhaustive): Chairman and Director of Morphic Ethical Equities Fund Ltd, in various roles at Hunter Hall Invest Management Ltd, as well as Non-Executive Chairman of Tissue Repair Limited. Jack has also previously served as a non-executive director of ASX listed Fiji Kava Ltd and Kresta Holdings Ltd.
Jack has had extensive experience in funds management, including in supervising activities of investment professionals (portfolio managers, analysts, dealers, distribution specialists), outsourced service providers and operational staff.
Mr Lowenstein holds a Bachelor of Arts from Oxford University, and a Master of Arts also from
Oxford University.
Sean BanchikDirector
Sean Banchik joined the board of the Responsible Entity as an independent Director in November 2024. Sean has approximately 35 years’ extensive experience in alternative asset management, mortgages and real estate, most recently as President and Chief Operating Officer of American Mortgage Investment Partners Management,
LLC (AMIP).
Sean has a thorough understanding of the residential real estate markets in the US, with particular experience in overseeing the REO department of AMIP in the management and disposal of residential real estate, including single family properties in the US. Sean’s experience will add value and complement the board’s existing expertise as the Group continues with the strategic sell-down of the portfolio and return of capital to Unitholders. He is also a board member for AMIP, as well as Visio-Beach Point Mortgage Trust, LLC.
